Orient Land Trust is a nonprofit land trust dedicated to the preservation of natural and biological resources, agricultural lands, wildlife habitat, open space, and historic and geologic features of the northern San Luis Valley for the enjoyment of current and future generations. 100% of unrestricted donations go towards open space and land conservation.
There are six beautiful pools and ponds for soaking at Valley View, and all are open 24/7 for overnight guests. The Swimming Pool and Hot Pool are within easy walking distance of the parking area, and three of the four Natural Ponds require a short walk up a moderate trail on the hillside. It's a steep and rocky 10-15 minute hike to the Top Pond, but it's worth it! There are great views to the Valley from all of the ponds, particularly from late October through early May without leaves on the trees.

We are 12 miles from the nearest very small town of Villa Grove and 37 miles from Salida, the closest town with any significant amenities such as supermarkets, pharmacies, or larger retail stores. There are no restaurants here, so bring whatever food you will need. Important - the closest gas stations are 32 miles north (Hwy 285) in Poncha Springs, 22 miles southwest (Hwy 285) in Saguache, and 38 miles south (Hwy 17) in Hooper, so be sure to fill up on the way here!n San Luis Valley.
