The Club makes an ideal base from which to explore the Bay of Plenty. We are only ten minutes drive from shops and beach, and twenty minutes from Whakatane or the Rotorua Lakes.
Members come from all walks of life. Most are couples or families with children, and the Club is a safe and pleasant environment for young and old. Naturism is one of the most beneficial and enjoyable forms of recreational activity.
The Bay of Plenty offers many interesting places to visit - far too many to itemise here. We can only mention a few.
· Near the Club:
* Bush walking and hill climbing.
* Fishing or swimming at the local beach (ten minutes by car).
* Heated pools at Awakeri Hot Springs.
* Motocross track just down the road from the club.
· Farther afield:
* Tauranga City and Mount Maunganui.
* Papamoa Free Beach.
* Rotorua's lakes and geysers.
* Shopping in the provincial town of Whakatane.
* Swimming with the dolphins (at Whakatane).
* Helicopter or boat rides to the active volcano, White Island.
Regular visitors to the club grounds include tui, quail and wood pigeon along with the usual sparrows, mynas and magpies. Hawks are also often visible in the sky and pheasants can sometimes be heard calling each other. Kokako are gradually coming back into the Manawahe hills...
The club is always more enjoyable when we have a lot of members and visitors on the grounds. While summer is generally the busy season we are open to visitors all year round but do require advance notice if you intend visiting when no-one is on the grounds as we do not have a resident caretaker...
ALL NATURIST VISITORS WELCOME
News
Anyone who believed we were in for a long, hot, dry summer may need to think again after the rain we have had this weekend. But then again, this may be all the rain we are going to get for a few weeks. Whatever the case we are all going to enjoy what sun we can get I am sure. We are setting up a roster of members on the grounds for the next couple of months so we have the gate open on a daily basis if possible. If you are planning to be on the grounds for one or more days please let me know so I can fill it in on the roster. So far we have Sam and Jenny covering from Boxing day to New Year’s Eve, Rien and Barbara from New years eve until 16 January with Gale filling in on days they are away for personal reasons.
